The FE&MVR created the town of Octavia in 1887, and businesses such as the elevator. With the tracks removed, the old elevator became obsolete. This was its last day, shortly before it was burned as a training exercise by the volunteer departments on April 25, 1989. [Photo by Jim Reisdorff]
