The image at left shows the corn has tasseled and the canopy is virtually closed.
No signs of moisture stress were apparent. No visible differences between plots with the original N application and those with the additional N application were apparent.
The graph below displays a portion of the fourth dataset, acquired July 28, 1998. Corn height is 80 inches and plant development is at the R2 stage (approx. 10-14 days after silking). The IFOV of the sensor is 60 inches and was positioned 19 feet above the canopy. Sky conditions were mostly clear.
The curve looks similar in comparison to July 6 except for a slight decrease in near-infrared reflectance.
