Objective

  1. Examine the effects of moisture treatments on the productivity of corn crops through hyperspectral non-image remote sensing and airborne multi-spectral imagery.
  2. Initiate the development of a "spectral signature" database of corn crops at various growth stages.
  3. Examine the effects of nitrogen treatments on the productivity of corn crops through hyperspectral non-image remote sensing and airborne multi-spectral imagery.
  4. Coordinate with University agronomists and other scientists conducting crop research experiments to determine what stress-induced characteristics can be detected from airborne multi-spectral imagery, and if the particular types of stress are distinguishable from one another.
